WTN: 2003 Leoville Poyferre

I have not been a big fan of this wine in the past. About 8 years ago I opened a bottle with James Noland and was very unimpressed. It got a big score, maybe 97, from RMP, but maybe it was closed down at the time. Last nite it was more open with somewhat resolved tannins but the slight sour cherry and light herb notes were not very exciting. My last bottle and glad of it. I just do not think this wine will improve further. Time for a Chateauneuf du Pape tonight which rarely disappoints. Stay healthy youall !!

That has always been a weird wine.
