WTN: Close Chave

2011 J L Chave St. Joseph
Opened last night to serve with spicy chicken tacos. Smelled/tasted fantastic initially, but on second thought we waited until after dinner to serve it (an hour, say) because I put quite a bit of heat into the tacos. In that time the wine should have gotten even more thrilling. But it didn't. Fruit dropped out and left a cardboardy shell. We defiantly drank it anyway because it was an $80 bottle (too much, but purchased a year ago in a wine shop on Orcas Island), but what a disappointment.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

ouch, corked (I assume) Chave!
$60 isn't that out of line (assuming Domaine and not Offerus)

Yes, Domaine, not Offerus. Pretty disappointing.
