WTN: Quarantine Days 1 and 2

by Jenise » Fri Mar 20, 2020 1:03 pm

2015 Château Féret-Lambert Bordeaux Supérieur Red Bordeaux Blend
No idea how this came to my cellar. Reductive, dull. Held over one day seeking improvement. None; just prunier. This is no way to start a quarantine! Fed it to the camellias.

2005 Château de Saint Cosme Côtes du Rhône Les Deux Albion Red Rhone Blend
Youthful color with plummy ripe fruit. A bit strong/reductive which was corrected with two teaspoons of cold water (to the whole bottle while in decanter)--freshened it up nicely.

2008 Williams Selyem Pinot Noir Bucher Vineyard Russian River Valley
Thought this would be perfectly ready but in fact, it seemed a bit OTH (lightly jammy and pruney) upon first opening. We proceeded to drink it anyway, and the last sip after several hours open seemed to correct those issues and showed the wine nicely, though more tertiary than secondary which strikes me as unusual for a cool vintage WS.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
