NV Matthiasson Cabernet Sauvignon Quake Cuvee - USA, California, Napa Valley (3/16/2020)
While we deal with a global crisis, I thought it would be good to open a wine created in response to another crisis, the 2014 Napa Valley earthquake.

Not a lot to say, except that it’s delicious. Vibrantly fruity, but in no way over the top. Delicately structured, especially for a Cabernet. Maintains presence through the mid-palate and finish. It’s yummy.

Good to recall what a solid person Steve Matthiasson is. He was dealing with his own issues when he made this. It’s that selfless idealism that we need in the age of coronavirus.
