WTN: Tignanello 2013, take two,

by Jay Labrador » Thu Feb 27, 2020 7:53 pm

When I tried the Tignanello 2013 a couple of days ago, I poured off about 150 ml into a small bottle and tried that sample yesterday.

In effect, the wine was double decanted and left to sit in the glass for a little over an hour before tasting.

Where originally, the nose was all oriental spice, now it was more red and black berries, prune, leather, and blood-iron. Still dense and tannic. Meaty, dry, herb, and soy sauce on the palate. Still tight and unyielding. Seems like this will need a long, long time to open up.
Three be the things I shall never attain:
Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.
