2006 Joh. Jos. Christoffel Erben Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Spätlese Mosel Saar Ruwer
Vivid golden yellow color. Intense, concentrated flavors of ripe stonefruit, coconut, lime peel and pineapple. Very sweet, almost auslese strength and somewhat overpowering for a main course food pairing, even one with all the perfect elements for a match (chicken roasted in spicy coconut milk). Don't tell Bueker, but I actually added a bit of ice to mine and preferred the results after some dilution.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

2006 is a crazy ripe plus botrytis vintage. Your wine was essentially beerenauslese ripeness, so not a shock that it did not work with food. I only drink 2006 as aperitif or dessert, except with spicy Asian food.

I get it, and this WAS spicy Asian food hence my choice of wine. The food and wine were very complimentary, it's just I underestimated not only the sweetness in this particular wine but my own ability to tolerate it. I/we just aren't accustomed to even nominal off-dryness.
