Date Palindromes

by Bill Spohn » Sat Feb 01, 2020 12:29 pm

I was lying in bed last night when it suddenly occurred to me that tomorrow marks a very rare day.

The date will be 02/02/2020 and it reads the same backward as forward.

This last happened on Jan 1, 1010 (the last year that the Nile River froze over). It will happen next on March 3, 3030 (the frequency depends on how you write the date DMY, MDY etc.)

I googled it and found this:

See https://calgaryherald.com/news/local-ne ... feb-2-2020

What will everyone be opening to celebrate? Which producers have names that are palindromes?

I think I will go by varietal - open a Tannat!

That's nuthin'. Wait a few weeks until February 20. At 20 seconds after 8:20 p.m. that day, it will be 2:20:20:20:20:2020!

What about 10/02/2001 for example?

Edit: Ah, I see the ones you are talking about are dates that are palindromes regardless of the date-month order.
