With spicy Thai chicken wrap tonight I opened a 2013 Pacific Rim Gewurztraminer from Yakima Valley , Wa. I didn't expect much at that age and not being from Alsace or Alto Adige, also not young and deeply discounted at less than $10. Shame on me. For the first 45 min. it preformed fabulously with great acidity and abundant spice. Label mentioned rose petal but I found none which would be good as my wife does not care for that. After about an hour I noted a sharp decrease in acidity. Still not flabby but less exciting. ABV of %12.9. I thought this label was one of Randall Grahm's wines but could be mistaken. I'd buy more if younger vintage. Probably the best Gew. I ever tasted outside of Alsace or Alto Adige although Bel Lago in Michigan is a close contender.
