2018 Dönnhoff Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Riesling Spätlese - Germany, Nahe (1/1/2020)
Lychee, peach and a little touch of under ripe pineapple dominate the nose on the wine, but the back end is a stony, racy mineral bath. Plenty of youthful sweetness, so look to a long development curve, and a glorious future maybe 10-15 years down the road. It's pretty electric, so not for the faint of heart.

Too bad my local importer is a couple of pretentious, monomaniacal, greedy assholes. With so many wines to pursue, I prefer my money go to nicer people. But Donnhoff is kind of where I almost break my rules. Or wish I could without losing face.
