2004 Domaine Grand Veneur Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend
Chose this to pair with some little Canadian pork and clove pies, and it was a good match for the dark spices. Could use a touch more acid, and though the color and tannins are holding up well for it's age I'd still play the Time's Up card here. Drink soon.

2016 Teutonic Wine Company Pinot Meunier Borgo Pass Vineyard Willamette Valley
Must have been cold in the Pass. This is more herbaceous and less endorphin-inducing than the '15: more tomato leaf and less tomato, that is, which I don't find as attractive.

2005 Williams Selyem Pinot Noir Ferrington Vineyard Anderson Valley
So last week I passed on this bottle to take an '08 to Bill's luncheon as a tribute to Burt. I had planned a completely different wine and switched gears pretty much at the last minute so did what one does in those situations--not think it through carefully enough. I ended up taking a cooler vintage wine from a warmer location instead of taking the warmer vintage wine from the coolest location. The latter is this wine, and it was very fine. Very youthful in color and temperament for a 15 year old wine, with years of great life ahead of it. Only mildly into secondary, no tertiary yet.

2017 Foris Moscato Rogue Valley
Perfect moscato texture, but the spice is dulled by overt, uncomplicated sweetness. My grandmother would love it; I don't.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
