Donnhoff Brut?

by Dale Williams » Tue Dec 17, 2019 5:08 pm

OK David I just ordered a single bottle of Donnhoff Spatburgunder fizz. Never seen a Donnhoff sekt before, have you had? Actually anyone, but when I see Donnhoff I think of DB.

I have not had it. Will be very interested in your reaction. I might have to drive to New York!

I picked up one bottle of this (in Ithaca, no less!) but haven’t opened yet. Did open a (still, dry) Weissburgunder, which I’d also never had from them, and loved it.
cheers, Patchen

I actually had the 2008 seven years ago and liked it enough to consider cellaring (though I never did have enough fridge space for experiments like that). It's more Donnhoff than Sekt, judging from my notes.

Cellar d'Or often turns up with stuff I want on Wine Searcher.
Often tempted to ask my BiL to pick up (he teaches at Ithaca)
But will certainly check out when I'm in I in May

Thanks Patchen, will check out Cellar d' Or next time we are in the area..We live in Manlius, not far from Siberacuse..Way back when , used to stop at Northside a few times/year, especially when our daughter was playing in concerts at Ithaca College School of Music venue...last few trips to FL's, just visited wineries..multiple family members, including my father, were Cornell alums
