WTN: Massican Friulano '18...(short/boring)

by TomHill » Mon Dec 16, 2019 11:16 am

Tried this last night:
1. Massican Friulano Dd'OC: Friuli Colli Orientali (100% Friulano; 13.5%) Ronco del Gnemiz/
SanGiovanni al Natisone/Friuli 2018
: Light gold color; quite fragrant Friulano/floral/carnations bit spicy light earthy/perfumed talc quite pretty nose; lightly tart bright/floral/carnations/spicy slight earthy quite pretty flavor; long bright/floral/carnations/Friulano finish; nothing profound here but just a pretty good-drinking Friulano. $28.00

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. This is the 2'nd year, I believe, that DanPetroski has made wines himself in Friuli at Ronco del Gnemiz. His first was a Gaspare, a Friulano/Ribolla/Chard blend, which I liked quite a lot. This wine, though pretty, didn't measure up to the Gaspare.

I am pretty sure it is at least his third vintage, if not his fourth.

Either way, I liked the Gaspare, but decided I would focus on his domestic wines.
