1997 Weingut Karlsmühle Lorenzhöfer Riesling Auslese - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer (12/15/2019)
There is only one other note on Cellar Tracker, and it says “over the hill and DOA.” Well that’s completely wrong!

This wine is actually very youthful, especially for being 22 years old. It still has peach and grapefruit aromas, along with salty, stony undertones. It’s only moderately sweet now, so it’s food friendly. The finish echoes the sweet/tart fruit, and has refreshing acidity. Lovely wine that is alive and well, with years left to go.

I hope you posted your note to counterbalance!

I know that I should always discount the reviews, especially if I can't tell anything about the posters' preferences or experience. But it's hard not to be influenced by an aggressive note like 'over the hill and DOA'.

I did post it!

I see a lot of “past its best” or “over the hill” notes on CellarTracker that I largely discount.
