NV Krug Champagne Brut Grande Cuvée - France, Champagne (11/28/2019)
Our final pre-date code bottle was served with Thanksgiving dinner. We keep the table completely savory, so Champagne is a great accompaniment. This bottle dated back to last decade (my hand written note on the label said 2008), and it could have gone another decade at a minimum. Just barely showing toasty/biscuity notes, it had fresh apple fruit, and a touch of spice as well. Something buttery popped in after an hour or so, and the last glass showed a very suave richness. Fabulous bottle.
