2014 Domaine Amiot-Servelle Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Derrière La Grange - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru (11/19/2019)
Test driving a bottle, as I had not yet tasted anything from the recent vintages of Amiot-Servelle. It’s very Chambolle, as the fruit comes across in a gentle, suave manner. The back end does have grip, and so the entire package is balanced for mid-term ageability. It’s a red fruit (cherry) and mossy earth focused wine, with a hint of bitterness that keeps the wine focused. I am glad to have tried a bottle now, and will confidently cellar my remaining bottles for several years.
