ErzsebetPince Takaji Kiraly 1A Noble LateHrvst Tokali (10.5%; CortiBros 70'th Anniv Slctn; #038 of 136; Great Takaji Wine Auction 2016; www.ErzsebetPince.Hu; www.TokajiBorlovAgrend.Hu; BlueDanubeWineCo) 2009: Med.dark gold color; beautiful bright botrytis/peachy/apricotty light caramel/creme brulee light figgy/fig newton slight spicy/nutmeg beautiful complex nose; lightly sweet (5%-7% RS?) fairly tart bright/figgy/fig newton strong botrytis/peachy/apricotty some creme brulee/bit caramel quite complex balanced flavor; very long/lingering strong botrytis/peachy/apricotty/creme brulee fairly sweet finish that goes on & on; a beautiful balanced bright Tokaji at a great price; should go out another 20 yrs. $40.00/500ml

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. This was a wine that Darrell insisted I buy. He bought an auction lot for the CortiBros 70'th Anniv. Oftentimes I find Tokaji a bit heavy-handed on the botrytis. This one also had plenty of Furmint fruit and very well balanced with just the right amount of botrytis. A terrific Tokaji.
