My new shipment from Matt arrived ystrday, so Pobega'd:
1. Forlorn-Hope Baron von Verm Vermentino RorickHeritageVnyd/CalaverasCnty/SierraFoothills (12.35%;
www.ForlornHopeWines.com) 2017
: Light gold bit hazy color; strong Verm/floral/carnations rather earthy/mineral/saline slight herbal/mustard greens/kale quite interesting nose; tart/tangy/bit grapefruity light floral/Verm/carnations rather stony/mineral/saline/bit earthy slight mustard greens/herbal bit lean flavor; very long fairly tart/tangy light floral/Verm bit mustard greens finish; not nearly as fruity as some (Tablas/Ryme) but a strong savory/saline character that suggests a Corsica Vermentino; quite nice food wine. $32.00
