2013 in Burgundy?

by Paul Winalski » Sun Oct 27, 2019 2:54 pm

I have the opportunity to pick up some Louis Jadot 2013 Savigny-les-Beaune villages at a substantial discount--it's being discontinued at the New Hampshire state liquor stores. 2013 seems to have been a very tricky vintage. Any comments on 2013 in the Cote de Beaune, and Savigny and Jadot in particular?

2013 is from what I know, and what little I have tasted, an acidic vintage, that is not showing much charm.

Not much on line, as nobody seems to be drinking it. I did find the following:

I've only had a few 2013s, but have generally liked what I've tasted. Of course I like acid.
I believe the Jadot Savigny (which used to be negoce) has been for last decade or so all Jadot vines. Which is usually a good sign,
As NH stores usually are pretty fairly priced to start with, I'd grab if a good discount.
