Any opinions about Burgundy producer Marius Delarche?

I'm unfamiliar, but note that both NBI and Kermit are/have imported his wines which kind of flies in the face of the presumptions about the differences between the two, or does it?

Never had them. Never even heard of them, and I am pretty well tied into the Burg geek world.

Doesn't seem to be on the geek radar. Small producer in Pernand-Verglesses--not that anyone's too small to escape the notice of the geek crowd if they're good.

I strangely have had a ton of their wine over the years. I'm not a big consumer of white Burgundy, but I know a few people that are and they really like the producer. I have always found them decent, and a good value for Burgundy, but nothing life changing. Somm Select seems to offer them a lot...

Good to know, Kasey. I bought one of the whites (Les Combettes) last week after tasting it at the North Berkeley tasting at Ted Seifert's. Then a few days later on a Sunday afternoon started googling the name to find out more about the producer and secondary market activity via Winebid where, sheer wild luck, I saw four bottles of the Delarche 2016 Le Corton at $46 closing in a few minutes. Apparently Winebid themselves missed the fact that this was a GC as they didn't include that in the title, and it's not their way to offer Burgs at half current market, but there this was. Obviously not a sought-after name since there was no other interest, but for the vintage and that price? Could not pass them up.

Glad you got them. But I don't think Winebid ever lists GC in title do they? By definition all Corton, Musigny, Bonne-Mares , etc is GC, and so it would be redundant. But sounds like a bargain. I love Corton, it just seems to take longer to come around than almost any other GC.

D'oh--I sound like an idiot, don't I? Can I get a pass because I'm sick? :) Head's too stuffed up to work right. :)

But I do agree re Corton, they can be quite hard and are not a favorite of mine. But I can't resist a bargain.
