2016 Jim Barry The Lodge Hill Dry Riesling Clare Valley
Powerfully aromatic nose of coconut and kaffir lime leaf, bone dry and lemony on the palate. Green apple and lemon grass appear with time but the austerity remains. Too challenging for some but I loved it--I'd forgotten how much I love the super-dry Aussie dry reislings.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

Ditto. IMO Riesling is one of the best things that the Aussies do. I have talked to Alsatian and German vintners, who have done a spell working down under, and they talk of a lot of manipulation - acidification, etc. Whatever the Aussies do, it seems to work with the best producers :D .

So I understand. A friend brought this to dinner; I wouldn't have even expected it to be in town. I've already made a note to pick up a few.
