WTN: Don't be tardy

With a ratatouille main course the other night:

2006 Tardieu-Laurent Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Spéciale Grenache
Believe this is 100% grenache, sure tastes like it. PnP'd, initial pomegranate and plums with spice and cactus pear. Nice enough but it fades toward the end of the bottle--drink up.

No oak? T-L was notorious for excessive oak.

I know and I agree they tend to be, but I've found that with age the oak usually joins the choir. It was certainly present here, but I wasn't trying to sell the wine so much as relay the message that it's time to drink up.
