2011 Domaine du Pégau Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Réservée Red Rhone Blend
My first of a parcel of '11s I own. Syrah-dominant chalky black fruit (IOW, no red fruit) and quite funky. Not especially balanced or immediately recognizable as Pegau--needs more time.

2006 Le Vieux Donjon Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend
Another great bottle. Bright and vivid with mesmerizing allspice, tea and orange peel notes. With thin sliced rye bread from a local bakery and stinky, silky, perfectly ripe Harbison cheese from Vermont, one of the best wine-food matches in recent memory.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

I like the balance of 2006 for more traditional CNdP.

I love 06. Very classic for my tastes.
