Tried this last night:
1. Flotsam&Jetsam Stalwart Cinsault W.O.: Western Cape (Dry farmed/Old Bush Vines; www.FlotsamAndJetsam.co.Za; BroadbentSlctns) Chris & Suzaan Alheit/AlheitVnyds/Hermanus/WalkerBay/RSA 2017: Med.light color; rather earthy/loamy some dusty/OV some cherry/raspberry/Cinsault bit rustic/Languedoc-like rather interesting nose; fairly tart/tangy rather earthy/loamy/compost pile dusty/rustic fairly cherry/raspberry/black cherry bit sour/coarse flavor w/ light rough/coarse tannins; very long some tart rather earthy/loamy some dusty/OV bit sour/rustic finish w/ light coarse tannins; some pretty cherry/Cinsault fruit therein but rather earthy/loamy/coarse; a bit like a SA Pinotage Lite

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. This was actually one of the better SA reds I can recall. I often find them dominated by an earthy/loamy/coarse character at the expense of fruit. This one certainly had that but there was some rather pretty Cinsault fruit there. Would not buy again, though.
