2002 Gloria Ferrer Pinot Noir Rust Rock Terrace Carneros
PnP'd. Very dark purple-garnet color. Initial nose of ripe-year iodine and worcestershire sauce--that intense, raisiny, spicy/savory, orange peel thing, similar on the palate, along with black cherry fruit. Might have been on the extracted side to begin with but it's amazingly youthful now for a 17 year old--offhand, would have guessed about 10. In the glass it evolves quickly, getting quieter but more interesting as we transition to a second glass. All good, all the way thru. Drink by 2024, I'd say.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

Rust never sleeps.

Pretty cool that it is aging so profitably.

I'd never have bet on it from anything I'd had from the brand, but that's what's fun about antique (wine) shopping.
