2013 Gunderloch Nackenheim Rothenberg Riesling Großes Gewächs - Germany, Rheinhessen (8/5/2019)Three+ extra years in the cellar, and this has developed a broader palate presence than it had on release, but it's still quite firm/hard. There's also a notable touch of heat on the finish, so I am concerned about any substantial further aging. Judgement reserved, though at nearly six years post-vintage, I guess I can say this wine did not hit the mark.

I love German Riesling but have never been very impressed with Gunderloch. I've heard good things over the years and tried and tried again, but sadly have never been moved by one of their wines...

I used to dabble with Gunderloch but only the Kabinett if I remember correctly.

I really like the Jean Baptiste Kabinett and the Rothenberg Spatlese.
