2004 Lawrelin Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley
In-store tasting. Decent, obvious age and better than the vintages either side of it which were also being poured but not for me up to the standard set by other WA cabs from this vintage (Boudreaux, Feather, etc).
2008 Den Hoed Marie's View Wallula Vineyard Horse Heaven Hills Red Blend
Everything I hoped for when I bought these five years ago was present in this bottle. Uber elegant: spicy and complex with silky tannins in ways that contradict the WA cab stereotype. I'm a big fan of Rob Newsom's wines made under his own mantle, Boudreaux, but this is possibly his masterpiece.
2014 Upchurch Cabernet Sauvignon Upchurch Red Mountain
Margot's bottle. Decanted about one hour. Tasty, earthy, but felt like it was holding back a bit when compared to my only other experience with this wine two years ago. Another year or three should pop, and I'll look forward to it. I own six myself.
2007 Karl Lawrence Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
Purchased at auction; probably had provenance issues as it's showing some advanced, oxidative flavor.
2004 Hartwell Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Stags Leap District
Lambert's bottle. Excellent. Classic Napa/StagsLeap-ness, showing great for the vintage. Still youthful and developing.
