2003 Hexamer Meddersheimer Rheingrafenberg Riesling Spätlese * - Germany, Nahe (6/26/2019)
Bottle number eleven from a case bought on release, and the last bottle will sleep for a while longer. This is still early in its maturity phase, and shows plenty of rich, peachy fruit. It's a big, sweet wine, more like Aulsese* than Spatlese*, but with spicy Thai curry it's just the thing. It is typically soft for a 2003, but not flabby. It does not feel sugary or limp. It just glides across the palate, and leaves a lasting, pleasant impression.
