Foxen, La Dominique, Tenuta di Arceno, Gruber Roschitz.

Couple of tastings downtown past two weeks, found some nice reds that really stood out!
The 2015 Foxen Pinot Noir from Santa Barbara area had a very appealing nose with raspberry and strawberry, hint of plums too. Plenty of cherry fruit and spice, earth. Smooth finish, great alround.
The 2009 Chateau La Dominique, St Emilion showed some age but was quite drinkable. Soft tannins, dark berries, some said "silky". I thought it was drinking well.
I am not a SuperTuscan expert by any means but the 2013 Tenuta Di Arceno Il Fauno Di Arcanum was my WOTN at one event. Lots of lively red fruits, soft tannins, oak too. Some thought new world?
Brief notes mention cocoa, cherry, herbal.
The 2017 Gruber Roschitz St Laurent Rose was superb. Good length, nice finish, sour cherry, rhubarb. will have to seek out for one of my camping trips!

Bob, Château La Dominique 2009 "showing some age" in its 10th year doesn't sound right. It should be just at the beginning of its drinking window with plenty of life left.

Is that SuperTuscan a Bordeaux blend? I'm not sure I'd like it from your descriptors "soft tannins, oak too".

Yes, I/m also surprised at a 10 yr old St-Em GCC from a big year showing some age.

OK. Brief notes, I was pouring too and filling waters so not much real attention paid.
