Tried this wine last night:
1. TheOjaiVnyd Viognier RollRanchVnyd/VenturaCnty (13.5%) 2013: Pale gold color; fairly strong pear/peach/Viog slight smoked hot dog bit herbal some stony/mineral/bit Condrieu-like slight bacon fat some complex quite interesting nose; rather tart/tangy pencilly/oak rather quiet Viog/pear/peach/floral/carnations slight cardamon/nutmeg bit pencilly/oak some stony/mineral bit smokey interesting flavor; very long rather tart/tangy some light pencilly/smokey/oak bit herbal quiet Viog/pear/peach/floral/carnations bit spicy/cardamon bit smoked hot dog pencilly/oak bit lean some complex finish; way far away from DollyParton territory; quite an interesting/intriguing spicy/herbal Viog that reminds some of CollinesRhodannies Viog; probably will get even more interesting over the next 4-6 yrs; no signs of nutty old Viog character.

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. This wine was well into Adam's move into leaner/sparer less intense whites with lower alcohols. I remember tasting this back in 2014 and finding it lean/eviscerated with very little flavor. I did not like it at all. Now, 5 yrs later, it is starting to put on weight and becoming very interesting, if atypical of Calif Viog. I expect it will continue to improve.
