WTN: Here Comes the Sunbasket

by David M. Bueker » Mon Jun 17, 2019 9:19 pm

2015 Corison Cabernet Franc Sunbasket Vineyard - USA, California, Napa Valley, St. Helena (6/17/2019)
Richer than most Corison wines I have tried, this is still restrained for Napa. Deep red fruit, a bit of earth, and just barely there fresh herb tones create a balanced aromatic, and fresh palate presence. It’s mid-weight for a Napa wine, so it packs plenty of flavor. No sense of overdone richness, or extreme late harvest. There’s good tannic structure to keep things in line. Could be a candidate for some significant cellar time, though I really enjoyed it tonight.

Interesting, only Corisons I've ever seen were the regular CS and Kronos, and the Helios (Syrah I think).

Have you used a variation of "Here Comes The Sun" for a Sonnenuhr tasting note?

Damn. Well, at least you inspired me with an awful pun, which I posted yesterday, that might even make you gag.
