The Bob in Retirement

by Bill Spohn » Wed Jun 12, 2019 4:07 pm

A friend of mine, Sid Cross, had dinner with Robert Parker recently in Baltimore. They had a nice talk about the early days of the wine newsletter and had large format bottles from Bob's cellar. Thought you guys might be interested. Pic from a IWFS newsletter.

Good for Sid! That's a score. Bob looks pretty good.

1990 Grand Puy Lacoste in Imperial

1997 Sandrone Barolo on double mag

1988 Climens in Magnum

Second one - bottle size unspecified:

2004 Dom Ruinart Champagne

2013 Marcassin Chard

1982 Les Forts de Latour

1996 Leoville Poyferre

2003 Cos D'Estournel

2003 Montrose

2011 Sine Qua Non Syrah Patine

2011 Sine Qua Non Grenache Patine

1989 Latour Blanche Sauternes

And FWIW, Bob at least never used to drive himself. I presume that has not changed.

Not bad, Bill! I shouldn't be surprised that Sid and Bob are connected.

Any recent sightings of Sid's brother?
