WTN: Justino's Madeira Boal 10 Years

by Jay Labrador » Mon Jun 10, 2019 12:06 pm

It's been quite a while since I had a Madeira and this just arrived in the mail so really excited to try it.

Attractive mahogany tint. A little shy on the nose, but what a great palate. Coffee, roasted nuts, cinnamon, nutmeg, toffee, dates, raisins, and a touch of burnt caramel at the finish. Lovely streak of acidity leaving the mouth refreshed. Dangerously easy to drink. Excellent stuff.
Three be the things I shall never attain:
Envy, content, and sufficient champagne.

Have never heard of the brand Justino's but it sounds wonderful. I adore Madeira and probably prefer it to any other sweet wine. Not something one runs into often over here, though. We own a few and occasionally open them but--like you said--dangerously easy to drink.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
