WTN: St.Clair Kiva Special Reserve NM NV...(short/boring)

Tried this new wine last night:
1. St.Clair Kiva Special Reserve NM Dessert Wine (19%; RS: 16.4%; TA: 4.3%; pH: 3.65; Matured in Fr.oak under the NM sun; Grape Wine w/ Natural Flavor & Caramel color) Deming/NM NV: Med.dark/amber color; very strong grapey/passito/oloroso-like some complex rather alcoholic nose; soft/underacid rather alcoholic quite sweet/bit cloying quite grapey/passito slight oloroso-like flavor w/ no signs of oxidation; very long/lingering soft/underacid quite sweet rather alcoholic quite grapey/passito finish w/ no oxidation; not a huge resembalelance to an oloroso sherry but resembles more a young Calif Angelica more than anything; this is a 20-40 yr wine; $25.00/500 ml (KK)

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. This is something we've never yet seen in NM. It comes in a neat crock btl w/ a clamped stopper; a tribute to the Mimbreño people who lived in the Mimbres Valley around 1,000 years ago and are well known for their beautiful, geometrically decorated pottery. I have no idea what grapes went into this, but doubt it was Mission. It was probably late hrvst/passito grapes, partially fermented, than hit w/ alcohol and additional grape juice like an Angelica. It was stored/aged outdoors in the sun, but I would guess not for that long a time. There were no signs of oxidation you'd get in an Oloroso. A rather interesting wine that needs much age.
