WTN: rootdown GrenacheBlanc '17...(short/boring)

Tried this over the weekend:
1. rootdown GrenacheBlanc RedwoodGlenVnyd/RRV (13.8%; 6th root) 2017: Med.gold color; very strong GB/honeysuckle/floral/spicy/peach/peach blossom lovely fragrant aromatic nose; rather tart/tangy bit stony/metallic strong floral/honeysuckle/GB/peach blossom bit austere flavor; very long tangy/metallic very strong GB/floral/honeysuckle bit stony/mineral somewhat lean finish; way far away from DollyParton territory but maybe too far away, bit lean/austere on the palate; plenty of GB flavor on a somewhat spare/lean body. $29.00

1. rootdown is the operation of Mike Lucia, mostly recently from Copain. Though he doesn't advertise himself as such, he'd probably be considered a "natural" winemaker. His focus is on single varietals from organic vnyds. The "rootdown" comes from his fascination for what the vine is sucking up from the soil and trying to express that in his wines.
