"The tasting room at Ravenswood Winery in Sonoma, which had its doors open to visitors for nearly three decades on Gehricke Road, will close next month, as its parent company Constellation Brands confirms to SFGATE. The hospitality staff there will also be let go in mid-May, and the tasting room will stop taking reservations on May 17, 2019."
It sure was a fun place to taste zinfandel. According to the article, Constellation, which sold Ravenswood to Gallo along with 30 brands earlier this month, is keeping the vineyard. Not sure what the impact on the single-vineyard wines we all know and love will be, as I don't think the estate wines were the flagship ones. Still have fond memories of buying a case of their Lodi zin that had stained labels at a bargain price.
