2013 Hilliard Bruce Chardonnay Sta. Rita Hills
Seriously improved over the last year. The oak (which initially tasted like American) has calmed down and the candyish tropical fruit has evolved into something more suitable and sedate, though you'd never call it shy. Bought these on a lark and was very glad to see the last of them.

2015 Bevan Cellars Chardonnay Sonoma Coast
A Mae West kind of wine: full bodied, concentrated and loaded with toasty vanilla and apple tarte tatin. Needs more acid to carry the fat--though I liked a '13 single vineyard a few years back this is just not my style, especially in a year like '15. Won't buy their chardonnays again.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

Yeah, Russell’s Chardonnays make Ramey seem like Muscadet.

So I want to know why Tom Hill keeps talking about Dolly Parton when he could be talking about Mae West? :P
I don't know just how I'm supposed to play this scene, but I ain't afraid to learn...

Because he was, despite his extreme age, unable to follow Mae West "from the very start."
