WTN: Ransom Albariño

Ransom Wines 2017 Willamette Valley Albariño. $22. This nearly random purchase made me go back for a bunch more the next weekend; terrific concentration and balance between crisp, bright citrus and tree-fruit elements, minerality, and spicy richness (not, though, from wood treatment); and the wine, at only 11.8%, has a surprising lightness on the palate given the depth and complexity of flavor that it carries. Really outstanding.
cheers, Patchen

I had to do a double take! It's not widely distributed and I've never seen that at retail even here within 300 miles of where it's made.
I have visited the downtown McMinnville tasting room, and I remember how good their albarino is. IIRC, it's from the only albarino vineyard in Oregon--maybe old vines at this point too.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
