Killer Vouvray!!

This evening we had a great French "Meet the winemakers" do downtown.
The highlight for me was meeting Celine Champalou who brought along her entry level Vouvray plus a killer 2016 Le Portail ($52 Cdn).
Delicious dry chenin, great acidity, one for the long haul.Lemon curd, honey suckle, vanilla, pineapple. Balanced and full bodied, 7000 bottle production.

Yum. I don't think I ever had a Champalou Vouvray. According to WS, 2015 available at estate for €18 plus transport. 2016 probably brighter and more mineral.

They are a Kermit Lynch producer here in the States. Used to see more of them but perhaps it's just me hanging out in different wine corners. Haven't tasted in a while so nice to hear the positive report.

Believe me Tim and Rahsaan, if you can grab Le Portail..go ahead. You will not regret it.
