WTN: Tale of Two Pities

by Jenise » Wed Mar 27, 2019 12:34 pm

2008 Williams Selyem Pinot Noir Ferrington Vineyard Anderson Valley
Decent but not exciting nose. Suspect palate: high acid but also hollow, and by the time we got to a second glass the remainders of the bottle had turned cloudy and sour. (We generally get three pours each per bottle, so this was the majority.) Hoping for improvement, I opened:

2008 Hanzell Pinot Noir
No brett. Good nose but empty on the palate. Recorked for next day, but I don't expect any reward.

So we drank a cheap rose.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov
