Tried this wine last week:
1. Carlisle Zin DuPrattVnyd/MendoRidge (15.4%; Plntd: 1920; 230 cs) 2012: Very dark color; beautiful very spicy/Zin/blackberry/slight herbal rather dusty/OV very light toasty/oak quite complex nose; fairly tart/tangy very strong blackberry/Zin/very spicy slight c-c/peppery rather dusty/OV light toasty/oak fairly complex flavor w/ light tangy tannins; very long/lingering very spicy/Zin/blackberry somewhat dusty/OV slight peppery light toasty/oak complex finish w/ light brisk tannins; seems to be moving right along and should go out anuther 2-5 yrs w/ marginal improvement; a bit like the old JedSteele/Edmeades Dupratts but a bit more perfume & high-toned character.

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. DuPratt sprung to my attention as a great OV Zin vnyd when JedSteele started making Zin from there in the mid-'70's. BarneyFetzer had made some before that that were also quite good. They were some of the greatest Zins ever made in Calif. After Jed left Edmeades, the DuPratt sorta dropped from view. Jed continued to make DuPratt at JedSteeleWnry, but I never thought it to be of the level.
MikeOfficer made his first DuPratt Zin in 2011 and deserves the lions share of the credit for rescuing DuPratt from oblivion. Maybe now the greatest DuPratt Zins ever made from that property.
