So I am confused, Tom. Someone here (I think David?) stated that there were issues with his partners, and the founder of Terroir (the money supporting Pax's project) is in the federal pen for defrauding a football player....AND, the Windgap tasting room is now rebranded as a Pax tasting room....does Windgap still exist as a brand? Or is Pax phasing out of it as the wine is sold off?

Confused, Brian?? Me, too.
A few yrs ago. Pax sold to CharlesBanks part interest in his WindGap brand. When Pax parted company w/ JoeDonelan at PaxCllrs, they kept his name. So Pax started up WindGap as the name for his winemaking effort. And made a considerable
change in the style of his wines, becomming a darling of SweetAlice and the IPoB cabal. JoeDoelan than changed the name to DonelanCllrs and sold Pax his name back. So Pax was making wine under both the WindGap and Pax (and Cabernet under the Agharta label). Several yrs ago, Pax brought CharlesBanks/TerroirEstates in as a partner (presumable Charles put up some $$'s) in WindGap (only). I understand Pax didn't feel he was getting what he wanted out of Terroir, so recently got out of the WindGap operation (presumably for some $$'s) and now only makes wine under the Pax label. Meanwhile, CharlesBanks was convicted of defrauding SanAntonio Spur's BBaller TimDuncan (who was a client of Banks investment firm) of many $$'s and is now serving jail time down in Georgia (I believe). I believe WindGap is still an operating brand, presumably under TerroirEstates. Not sure who the winemaker is. Terroir is also a partner w/ BobLindquist/Qupe. Not sure how that is working out.
So it is a bit confusing and not sure I have all the details right. Somehow, we have to figure out how to blame it all on Obama!!

I think you filled in the details, Tom.

So WindGap has nothing to do with Pax anymore. A good thing to remember.

As I like the Sweet Alice school (usually...I still remember the Rotten Peanut Butter Gamay made by the Bearded French Under-the Bridge troll who had no electricity or internal combustion run equipment), I liked Wind Gap quite a bit. Maybe this weekend I will bicycle to Sebastopol and check out the "new" operation.

Well, Brian....the WebSite is sorta strange. Makes no mention about Pax, or the winemaker, is devoid of any details.
And it also says that the TastingRoom is now closed. So take your bike ride up to LakeTahoe or some such.
WindGap is now totally controlled by TerroirEstates. With Banks doing time, I can't find out anything about
TerroirEstates or who is in charge there.

The wind Gap tasting room is closed. That's because it's the Pax tasting room, which is open.

Don't know how one tastes the current Wind Gap wines these days.

Bear in mind that Pax made everything at Wind Gap though 2017, so they are still "Pax Gap" for a bit longer.

David: That is what first inspired the question, actually. The tasting room being closed

Haven't made it to Sebastopol this summer yet, but will check out the "new" Pax lineup.
