2012 Ceritas Chardonnay Porter-Bass Vineyard – flowers, quince, rocks, very pure, but can't I get the same experience from AOC Chablis for less?[/b]

Not if you're serving it with Freedom Fries!

Texturally, yes, it's worth the price. And most 35-dollar barbaresco is crap (and no, Produttori does not scratch the same itch).

I've had it twice. Once I though it was worth it. This bottle not so much. I have two more. Hopefully they will be like the first.

I thought you posted on this already. Perhaps caught it at a bad time? I've only had the 2008 and 2010 which I've both loved enough to stock up on but always wonder when to drink nebbiolo-based wines. I think the Alto Piemonte wines do have a longer window of drinkability (from release) than their more stalwart cousins down south, which can be so unyielding and hard for for long, but still it's a mystery as to how they can be on any given day.

Giamello?

A KLWM wine, so probably much cheaper in Italy and not exactly cutting-edge undiscovered gem. But I have been really happy to find them as such 'useful' drinkable delicious wines for roughly $35.

I have posted on it before. I posted on the good bottle.

Good to know that the basic Produttori Barbaresco is “crap.” Let Aldo Vacca know the next time you see him. ;)

I think you can always pick a producer or 2 out of a hat that disproves my point. i did say "most", perhaps you missed that.

If you see my first rebuttal, I exempted Produttori. :o

Didn't seem so much of an exemption as damning with faint praise.

I would never damn Produttori with faint praise.
