2015 Cowan Cellars Syrah - USA, California, Sonoma County, Bennett Valley (8/13/2018)Dark and coiled, this is in need of serious time to unfurl and show what it has got. Currently it's all about deep berry fruit, some floral tones (presumably from the 100% whole cluster) and a low, lurking bass note. Tannins are in balance with the fruit, and the wine is not heavy, despite its imposing stance. I will give this 3-5 more years before broaching another bottle.
