Evesham Wood Pinot Noir 1989 Estate

by michael dietrich » Tue Jan 30, 2007 12:13 pm

When I was looking around in my cellar on Sunday I came across a bottle of Evesham Wood Pinot Noir 1989 Estate. I thought I had used this ages ago. We were having lamb for dinner so now was as good a time as any. I opened it up and was amazed at how fresh it tasted. The color definitely showed some age but the nose was incredible. It had all that forest floor and mushroom. This is why there is such excitement here in Oregon about Pinot Noir. It certainly is one of the best Pinot noirs I have ever had.

Cool TN. We should all lose wines in our cellar from time to time. I hope Aamer sees this, he was asking for reccos on two Oregon pinots he had a choice of for his cellar, and I reccomended the Evesham. Easy choice if you know the winery, but not many do.
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

Michael,
Thanks for posting this. Isn't it great when stuff like that happens.
