Wedding Champagne

by thomas.andrews » Mon Jul 02, 2018 1:02 pm

I am looking to buy some champagne for by wife to be to have the morning before our wedding, and to have in our room to wrap up the evening. I know she really enjoys La Marca prosecco and that she will have some of that for her bridesmaids to share, but am looking for something different for the morning of as a gift. I was looking at Moet Rose and/or Moet Imperial Brut. Are either of those a good choice? Or are there any other suggestions? I am looking in that price range. Any suggestions would be great!

Congratulations.
Personally Moet Imperial or rose aren't my favorites, but of course tastes vary.
Where are you- market can make a big difference as to availabilty. You're likely to get some recs for good grower Champagnes here, but many might not be in all markets. For the big houses I might suggest
Rose- Taittinger or Laurent-Perrier
Brut- Pol Roger or Taittinger.
but that's my tastes. I'm sure she will appreciate the gesture no matter what wine you choose.

La Marca prosecco is very light and just a tad offdry. Without knowing exactly where you are and what else would be available to you, I can confirm that both the Moets you mention would be great choices. The wines are quite fine and the packaging has a very special-occasion look. Speaking as a girl myself, for a girl-gift, the rose might in fact impart a special "just for you" message. Go for it!
My wine shopping and I have never had a problem. Just a perpetual race between the bankruptcy court and Hell.--Rogov

Thank you for the suggestions. I'll see if I can find those. I am in Eastern Canada.

Thanks for your input. I originally was looking at the Moet Ice Imperial, but I figured it would be too sweet.
