This is a high end special cuvee from Domaine St Damien. Grenache based blend, grapes harvested from 80 year old vines. Deep ruby red. Aroma of cherries, strawberries and a bit of citrus. Medium body and slightly creamy (14.5% abv). Cherries, red berries, earth and a hint of mint. Aged for one year in 50 hl foudres, oak is very moderate, almost an afterthought, allowing the fruit to shine. Medium finish, with a slight tannic bite. Very good Gigondas, much much better than the regular St Damien.
