2014 Dirler-Cade Riesling Kitterlé - France, Alsace, Alsace Grand Cru (5/21/2018)Compelling aromatics of wet stone, bright citrus, apple skin, pear and warm hay give way to an almost bone dry palate focused on green apple and stone. Unripe pineapple comes in at the finish, and the mineral backbone carries on forever. I have greatly enjoyed Dirler wines in the past, but this one makes me stand up and take notice. It demands attention and rewards contemplation.
