Swan and Laurel Glen

2015 Blank Slate Sauvignon Blanc. This sauvignon blanc, from Randall's family vineyards in RRV, was a hit when introduced as an experiment to the wine club. I love. There is a hint of pineapple, but plenty of acid and mineral notes as well. My friend described it not as "food friendly" (though it is!) but "glass friendly".

2013 Joseph Swan Ritchie Vineyard. This is a BIG pinot for a Swan, with quite a bit of richness and mouthfeel. It is, nonetheless, utterly delicious with big fruit, great acid, some meaty notes, cola. A nice wine to consume with the utterly mind-blowing, timeframe leaping craziness of Season II of Westworld.

Is everything that comes out of the Ritchie vineyard richer than average? That's been my experience with SB and chardonnay, as if it's a particularly warm location, but I don't know. Never had a Ritchie pinot.

My only experience has been with Swan wines, and their Chardonnay is certainly on the richer side as well.
