Domaine Huber-Verdereau 2004 Volnay 1er Cru "Fremiets." Singed raspberry and plum fruit with a savory green streak that somehow doesn't suggest underripeness. Nicely developed. Brooding and butch, and just what I wanted to go with Andrea's salmon en papillote with green olives and Meyer lemon.
cheers, Patchen

Nice. You made the green-ness work for you! (Not every Burgundy goes well with green olives and meyer lemons)

But hey, we need a panoply of flavors.

It wasn’t a Chambolle night, that’s for sure. But it worked out well.

"Brooding and butch." Now there's a description!

Glad the green streak was manageable. Those '04 greenie meanies are unpredictable (and as you said not about underripeness).

I've only got a few bottles of Huber-V, but interesting wines (bio-d).
