WTN: Eikendal Semillon 2005

Stellenboch.

Medium yellow-gold.

Incredibly rich nose, heavy oak, sweet and spicy.

To parphrase the late Clara Peller: "Where's the fruit??"

Silky mouth feel, heavy oak, toasty, spicy and peppery. With time, some lime and lemon tried to peek out from under the slatherings of oak.

Not my cup of tea (or wine, for that matter).

Purchased at $17.95 (Canadian).

SIGH ... when will they learn about keeping these white wines pure to their varietal nature?
